Level 1 - Discovery Kiteboarder

Level 2 - Intermediate Kiteboarder

Level 3 - Independent or Advanced Kiteboarder


Discovery Kiteboarder - Level 1 (Two-four hours)

This section of the program is done on land and involves about 30min of theory and after that practical on the beach.

Level 1 A

* Safe wind directions and conditions for kiting
* Determining the wind strength, expertise of the wind and direction on the wind
* Hazards for the kitesurfing spot along with potential hazards to check out for
* Deciding on a safe location to put in place your kite
* Weather patterns, conditions and scenarios in order to avoid
* Build a trainer kite and understand the various parts of the kite
* Be able to utilize the safety system

Level 1 B

* Find out how the wind window works
* Launch the kite
* Be able to fly the kite
* Launch and land the kite by having an assistant
* Twist and untwist the lines while flying the kite
* Walk and change directions while flying the kite

Level 1 C

* Build a 4 or 5 line kite with a full de-power system
* Perform a pre-flight check of your respective equipment and settings
* Perform an in-flight check of your equipment and settings
* Understand and make use of the international communication signals
* Launch and land the 4/5 line kite since the pilot and the assistant

Level 1 D

* Control the kite while hooked in the harness
* Understand and employ the de-power and safety systems
* Demonstrate full control over the de-power systems flying
* Learn advanced flying skills while using 4/5 line kite

Level 1 E

* Safety system - Pull quick release and activate leash
* Recover the bar and kite
* Self landing (lacking any assistant)
